The reader can see a small girl waking up in the middle of the night because she heard something. So she walks toward the sound. there she sees her mother on the phone, she is sad and probably lonely. The dishwashing mashine makes a calming noise. The girl is happy while her mother caresses her on the back. She doesn´t understand what she is talking about. She does not understand her own mothers language. The text is from the sight of the person on the other side of the phone. The girl does not know what is going on but she senses her mothers pains and would like to help her. The reader has to find out/decide himself how the two levels (the drawings + the text ) complement each other. Its a story about a woman who emigrated and has to struggle with the problems of daily life and divorce.
