Ludmilla Bartscht wurde in Freiburg im Breisgau geboren. Sie studierte an der Universität der Künste Berlin und an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg Visuelle Kommunikation mit Schwerpunkt auf Zeichnung und Narration. Anfang 2012 machte sie ihr Diplom zum Thema Moderne Nomaden "Wenn der Rucksack scheuert“.
Ludmilla Bartscht was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. She studied Visual Communication with a focus on drawing and narrative at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW). In early 2012, she completed her degree with a thesis project on modern nomads titled "Wenn der Rucksack scheuert" (When the Backpack Chafes).
She has also worked as a curator for exhibitions in Hamburg, Berlin, Freiburg, and Linz. She is a member of various art associations, including the Illu Verein Freiburg and the Upper Austrian Art Association (Oberösterreichischer Kunstverein) in Linz. Her work has been exhibited in Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, and the USA. She has worked as a lecturer at the HKDM Freiburg and has led numerous workshops both in Germany and abroad.
In 2017, she founded the print media fair "Print it, Baby!", which now takes place every two years at the Literaturhaus Freiburg as part of the Illu Festival.
In 2023, she completed a part-time program in sculpture at the art school in Munzingen, followed by a teacher training program for Intentional Creativity in 2025.
Since 2014, she has been living and working again in Freiburg as a freelance artist, and became the mother of a daughter in 2021.
